Blogging for SEOContest2008
What is blogging? This word is nowadays is getting famous and draws the attention of many people. When I first heard of this word, I actually don’t have any idea at all. The word sounds unfamiliar and it irritates my ears. I felt ashame of myself when a friend of mine once asked me that word. He asked me if I do blogging since I have my own website. I did not realize that what I am actually doing in my site is already about blogging. Blogging is not just writing what you think or thing what you would like to say, but it is all about expressing your emotion with feelings and most especially, BLOGGING is PASSION as what my friend used to tell me.
Today, since I already knew what blogging is all about, I can do many things about it. I am now actually using it for the newly launched SEOContest2008 in UK. This is actually my first time to join this kind of contest though my friends used to participate and have already won. My JRSEOContest2008 blog is my official blog for the SEOContest2008 brought to us by UK Webmaster World SEO Contest.
I actually name my entry blog as JRSEOContest2008 for the SEOContest2008 because I know that I am still a novice when it comes to SEOContest2008. I still have to learn much things about SEO and how to generate more traffic on my site. I am still, and I agree that I need to learn more for the SEOContest2008.
I know that in the SEOContest2008, there are many participants whom already won many contest similar to this. Though I know that I am competing with many SEO geeks, I stil believe in what my mentor has told me, it is about the “First Timer’s Luck.” Who knows, with this SEOContest2008, I can be on top of the others. That is how optimistic I am when it comes to the SEOContest2008.
Everyday, every hour, I always check on my status. I am always turning on my computer and search the internet using the keyword SEOContest2008 whether my blog is on the first 5 pages of the popular search engines. Well, I happy that after 3 days of registering my JRSEOContest2008 blog for the SEOContest2008, I remain on page 5 so far. I don’t know if this will drop, will remain as it is, or it will go up. This SEOContest2008 is really challenging to me as a blogger. I hope that I will do better that seeing my JRSEOContest2008 blog for the SEOContest2008 and not by simply remaining in page 5.
PRIDE and HONOR on the SEOContest2008
It is nearly 3:00 in the morning and my eye lids slowly close down little by little but I am still trying to fight it just to make my blog a competitive like the other blogs which were also registered in the UK’s recently launched Search Engine Optimization Contest or more popularly known as SEOContest2008.
Well, honestly, this is my first time to join the contest. I have been observing my friends, Gio and Philip joining different contest in the country and also watch them receive their awards winning home as champions. I am also aiming for that and I am still optimistic that I will be learning something in this SEOContest2008.
But, perhaps some may ask what will be the prize when someone wins the competition. For me, the best answer I could give is that, in this SEOContest2008, it is not actually the money which is important. What matter most is the experience and learning you will get upon participating on the aforementioned activity. This will give us (we the contestants), a chance to broaden our ideas and widen our imaginations by trying to figure out on how to optimize our website using the keyword given. At the same time, PRIDE and HONOR is priceless. That would probably be the main goal of every participants like me to have.
I know that there are tough competitors who already have their experiences but I will still stick on my belief, that nothing is impossible as long as you believe that you can do it. Anyway, to us believers and achievers, impossible is not part in our dictionary list.
So, to my fellow participants, I wish you all good luck and see you around. Make your best on the SEOContest2008.

Article
Quite often when you research information into the various cultures and cuisines that make up countries it is quite possible to find a common theme common name for the food of that country. Such as Chinese Food, Thai Food etc but to be honest it could be argued that with regards to Spain there is no such thing as “Spanish” food as with the make up and historical heritage of Spain it is not quite that simple.
The Political and historical make up of Spain with the unification of its particular regions and collective cultural identities make it perfectly reasonable and logical to argue that there is no such thing really as overall Spanish cooking. These autonomous regions have been slowly amalgamated through a number of different processes throughout history but have all kept their own distinctive features.
The relative number of autonomous regions that combine to form modern day Spain is 17 and in the main, they all have their own language variants (if not separate languages) and entire cultural heritages. One of the more interesting and culturally diverse regions is that of Galicia which is situated in the North Western corner of mainland Spain.
Galicia is surrounded on two sides by the Atlantic Ocean and it is pretty understandable to think that for a region that has such an involvement with the sea, its cuisine would also be heavily influenced by the sea. Nothing in fact could be further than the truth and there are a whole host of interesting and delicious recipes based upon the agriculture and viniculture of the region.
The time for talk is over and let’s gets on with the serious business of cooking!
For this delicious Gazpacho recipe we are looking to take enough ingredients to serve four people and us such we would need the following:
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 small leaks, white parts and then chopped.
600 ml of water
1 potato peeled and diced
450 grams of fresh asparagus with the tougher parts of the stalks trimmed and chopped.
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
4 media makes
1 teaspoon vinegar
A pinch of sea salt flake’s
A few drops of truffle oil or extra virgin olive oil
Take the olive oil in a heat the oil in a saucepan and then add the leaks and stew slowly until the leaks are nice and soft.
Next add the water a little salt and pepper and potato if you are going to be using one. The reason for including a potato in anything like this is that it will slightly thicken the soup making the whole dish a lot more substantial.
However, if you are going to include potato in this recipe then you have to remember that the soup will need to cook for about 10 minutes longer than normal until the potato has softened. The next thing is to add the asparagus and boil for five minutes. Be careful at this stage because if you boil the asparagus for too long you lose the colour from the asparagus and the whole soup will lose a bit of the visual impact.
Take the soup and then purée the soup in whatever blender or food processor that you have and when the soup has been puréed, push the soup through a sieve. The reason for this is that you want to try and make the soup as much of a consommé as possible.
Let the finished soup cool and then keep the soup cool until you are ready to serve. When you’re almost ready to serve the soup poured into some nice wide rimmed bowls.
Now for the second stage of the recipe, the warm poached eggs.
Take a saucepan and add some water. Add the vinegar and bring the water to a simmer rather than a boil. Take the eggs and gently crack them and gently lower them into the water. Simmer a couple of the eggs at a time for about three minutes or until the white of the egg is set.
Remove the eggs and leave them to drain. If at this particular point in time you want to be totally obsessed with the display and appearance of the soup you could always try and trim the whites of the egg either with a knife or scissors. Take the poached egg and place one in the centre of each bowl of soup and sprinkle on top of the egg some flakes of your sea salt and add a couple of drops off the truffle oil. Be careful with the truffle oil in that the actual case can be extremely overpowering and is not necessary to everybody’s taste.
Then serve sit back and wait for the complements!

Landlords – are you breaking the Law without knowing it?
It is also a legal requirement to provide a copy of the CP12 Certificate to your tenants after every inspection. It should detail each gas appliance, the date of inspection, any defects found and the action taken.
Transco receives over 1 million reports of gas escapes each year. The law is cracking down on private landlords who fail to produce a current gas safety certificate for their properties with heavy penalties in many cases. This is because the consequences of a faulty gas appliance can be carbon monoxide poisoning, and even explosion.
It is the landlord’s responsibility to ensure the gas safety check is completed annually – if access to the property is not possible, keep a record to show that you’ve tried everything in your power to carry out the inspection.
Tenants should be shown how to turn the gas supply off in the event of a leak, but it needs to be made clear to them that repairs can only be carried out by a CORGI registered engineer. The Council for the Registration of Gas Installers maintains a mandatory register of gas installers in the UK who are qualified to carry out the repair safely. A CORGI installer may imply gas appliances that are being fitted for the first time but CORGI registration applies equally to tradesmen who carry out gas appliance repairs, gas servicing and gas appliance replacement.
Melissa Fletcher of home emergency repair and insurance suppliers Homeserve said "Many landlords act in good faith but simply don’t realise the legal requirements regarding gas safety for their tenants. This puts them under unnecessary risk of legal action in the event of an accident.”
To safeguard yourself and your tenants, bear in mind the following checklists:
Legal Checklist:
• Have a safety check carried out on all gas appliances and flues annually or within 12 months before the start of a new tenancy.
• Have gas installations and appliances serviced regularly and keep a record of the service. This ensures the properties fittings and flues are maintained in a safe condition.
• Check gas installations and appliances immediately before the start of any new tenancy, even if the gas safety certificate is still current.
• Have all installation, maintenance and safety checks carried out by a CORGI registered engineer only.
• Keep a record of each safety check for 2 years – the CORGI installer will issue this.
• Give a copy of the CORGI installer’s safety check report to each tenant within 28 days of the safety check, or to new tenants before occupation.

Some times you may have to negotiate a deal to get them to drop ship for you. You must have an efficient fulfillment system. One of the reasons that brick-and-mortar stores are so slow on the uptake when it comes to online business, is that supplying retail stores is done with pallet-sized orders usually. But internet sales requires an entirely different kind of fulfillment system. Selling on the internet is essentially mail order, with shipments going out in small parcels to end users. Selling on eBay is extremely competitive many people are now importing goods from the far east and are able to sell their items for very cheap This is where your niche market comes in if you've done your research hopefully you can sell without too much competition. You might be asking "What on earth is dropshipping?" Dropshipping is a system of trading offered by certain suppliers.
Dropship:
Usually wholesalers are very big companies and have thousands and thousands of products so they will most likely be able to dropship their products for you. Artists and craft workers are keen on making, not so keen on marketing, and are my favorite source of quality products. I make a point of visiting local craft fairs at least once a month where I find exhibitors selling stunning creations at a tiny fraction of eBay prices for similar items, if any exist. Many items are unique or limited edition and never get seen beyond a few miles of their makers' homes. My eldest daughter obtains designer jewelry this way, my youngest opts for hand-made dolls and teddies, and I take watercolor paintings on hand-made paper from a young Chinese artist whose work I sell exclusively on eBay. She dropship for me direct to my customers. Visit these fairs once and you'll return time and again. You don't have to buy items, most craft workers and artists will work on commission, rather like a dropshipper who takes payment and delivers the product when you make a sale. Most will dropship to your customers. Find craft work fairs advertised in local weekend papers, usually under 'Items for sale', 'Fairs and auctions', 'Days out', or similar. Also see dvd-r wholesale distributors. Even if you are scammed on eBay while dropshipping it is usually for little cash.

Hospitals and Doctors
Hospitals and doctors’ offices are beginning to hire more pharmacists for their in-house pharmacies. These pharmacies, which feature both over-the-counter and prescription drugs, are designed to provide immediate point-of-prescription convenience for patients, especially those who have mobility problems. Pharmacists in these types of offices have the luxury of working directly with billing professionals and health workers alike to remedy health issues quickly. However, in other ways the in-house pharmacy may prove restrictive, as administrators and senior partners are often within walking distance.
There is, however, still room for the traditional pharmacist in the current bureaucratic system. Older style pharmacies are utilising information technology in order to improve the services they provide; patients with repeat prescriptions are often able to have these monitored by pharmacies who will collect them for the patient from the general practitioner and ensure their availability. In many high street outlets, major chains and independent pharmacists are investing heavily in order to compete. Facilities are often brand new, which means the best resources and working conditions for pharmacists. Also, members of the public can build a strong relationship with their pharmacist as they get regular prescriptions. The problem with working at these facilities is that there is sometimes little immediate resolution of administrative or prescription problems, which need to be resolved by phone or post.

How to tie down your Race Car with a Mac’s Ultra Pack.
Is the ‘D’ ring rated for a total of 3 times the weight of the Race Car? Once these items have been addressed, It is time to load the Race Car and tie it down.
Once you have loaded the Race Car onto the trailer, the next step is to connect the straps. Start by connecting the twisted snap hook on the fixed end (the short end)to each of the ‘D’ rings. Choose a set of locations to tie down to.
Typically, on a Race Car those locations would be through the wheel, over an axle or substantial suspension member, or possibly around a frame horn.
Some general guidelines to keep in mind are: choose a location with enough strength to hold the Race Car in the event of an accident, one that is free of cutting hazards, and with enough space around it to lace the axle strap.
DO NOT run a strap where it might migrate and crush a brake line. Also consider the effect of the movement of the Race Car while it is traveling down the road, since what may seem like a clear space now, could become tie down strap guillotine later, if the trailer hits a hard bump.
After choosing a location, you should now run your axle strap around it. Check the length if the standard 24 isn’t enough, don’t worry Mac’s can make the strap in any length needed in a short timeframe.
After determining that the length is correct, align the two delta rings at the end of the axle strap together and click in the running end (long end) of the ratchet strap. Before ratcheting the strap tight, pull the tail end of the strap through until the strap looks straight.
Now you can ratchet the strap, making sure to have two full wraps around the mandrel to ensure a positive mechanical lock. Repeat this process at all four corners of the Race Car.
Should you cross the straps? Possibly. Understand that the strap will have its maximum strength in the line it is pulling. It is always a good idea to have the straps at the rear of the Race Car pulling mostly straight back.
Most vehicles will out corner a trailer, so the Race Car is more likely to come loose when an accident occurs than wander around when properly tied down. Be sure to take a look at the setup in your trailer and make sure that it is sensible this is the best test for tie downs.
Business Success Tip - Become Your Own Cheerleader!
I count all of the above as successes!
I was having a conversation with a client last month who was beating herself up for “not doing” enough. She has high professional standards and an endless to-do list. Listening to all of her daily accomplishments, I started to chuckle at how hard she was on herself. I imagined a woman looking like an old school marm; that picture of a woman with her hair pulled in a tight bun, pointing a finger and scowling.
I pulled out my Webster’s Dictionary and looked up the definition for accomplishment. It said “the act or state of completing something successfully“.
Well, this really opened up the conversation! She never really defined accomplishments like that before! Now, she began to look at everything she successfully completed (personally and in her business) during the course of the day, as an accomplishment.
She began to include things like answering part of her emails, getting her daughter off to school, doing the first draft of an article - things she never would have counted before because they weren’t totally completed! Her whole attitude shifted. Being able to see accomplishments in a different way allowed her to feel more successful. Get it?
Here’s an example:
Let’s say you’re working on a project like creating a product. You’ve laid out an action plan with specific steps and timelines for product development and marketing. Each step you complete counts as an accomplishment AND a success. Guess why some people lose motivation? One reason is they don’t give themselves the recognition and pats on the back for the small steps along the way. PS - that why we create short-term goals along with long-term ones! We need those WHOO-HOOS to spur us on!
Here’s your call to action:
Develop a habit of acknowledging your daily accomplishments and write them down. I encourage folks to start a success journal. If you already have one, I want you to get really specific and acknowledge both your tangible and intangible successes - like having the willingness to do this exercise (and doing it!).
See how many things you can recognize during the course of the day. Include the things you take for granted and do without thinking. Make it a game! In time, this will become a powerful resource and living document you can refer to when you need a nudge or a boost (especially from YOU!)
The Nature of Schizophrenizia
In the picture as presented by the patient we have to deal with pathologic phenomena of several different categories. The abnormalities may comprise the effects of bad hygiene, the effects of habituation, the effects arising primarily out of the fundamental cause or causes of the disorder and the defects arising from secondary operations of the primary causal factors. The need remains for an adequate definition of the psychosis. This definition should, of course, delimit it from all other disorders; it should be broad enough to include all of the subvarieties; it should include none but characteristic attributes. The literature on schizophrenia as now available, while profuse in qualitative material, is defective in its content of accurate quantitative information.
But an even more significant defect is the lack of homogeneity of the data as they exist. These data have been obtained by many investigators using different techniques on a variety of patients living under dissimilar environmental conditions. They are of correspondingly limited utility for the purpose even of formulating a technically satisfactory definition. In large part they are entirely unusable for the type of studies of correlation that is needed for the analysis of the problem as a problem. There is need, then, for the collection of an extensive body of descriptive data on a fairly large number of patients studied under uniform conditions. While it is true, as has been emphasized elsewhere, that the mere enumeration of traits is a research method of strictly limited utility, it is likewise true that attempts to carry out research on a problem that has not been accurately set are likely to result in numerous ineptitudes.
However, even at the descriptive level, certain substantial accomplishments can be hoped for. At this level can be studied the question as to whether schizophrenia represents a disease entity or whether, like fever or headache, it might as well represent a variety of essentially different disorders. The detection of disease entities has not infrequently been accomplished at this level. For example, myxedema was so discovered. In principle, this sort of discovery amounts to the detection of consistent syndromes.

Getting The Best Deal On Used Cars
Dealership Or Direct?
If your buying a used car you'll no doubt consider whether or not you should buy direct from a person who is selling their car or from a dealership. There are advantages and disadvantages inherent in both. Firstly, if your buying a used car from a dealer then the chances are that you'll get a guarantee and that the car will be in good shape – this will not always be the case, however it's more likely to be the case than it would be in a direct sale. The extra security surrounding the purchase, however, comes at a price. You might be able to sleep easy at night knowing you've not been ripped off if you buy from a dealer, however it's unlikely you'll be able to get the cheapest deal that is out there. If your buying direct then it's best that you know your stuff, and that you get a written agreement with the person your buying from – in this agreement you can outline the expectations you have and place provisions in the contract which will outline what happens in the instance where things don't go to plan.
Don't Be Scared To Haggle
If you have managed to find the used car that your looking for, then don't assume you can only get it for the price that's advertised. Through the art of negotiation it may be possible to get the price down to something that is cheaper. With used cars you can find online guides that detail the recommended price of a used car based on its model, age, condition and mileage. Through referencing a guide like this you'll be able to show that you know what your talking about. If you notice any imperfections on the car, or are aware of any factors that could negatively influence its value, then don't be scared to bring this up. You may be able to persuade the seller that the car isn't worth what they are asking for.
Get Your Hands Dirty
If you know your stuff about cars then ensure that it's running properly before you part with your cash. Look under the bonnet and take it for a test drive to ensure that everything is running smoothly. If you don't know enough about cars then bring along someone who does, or pay for a mechanic to take a look before you part with your cash. You wouldn't buy a house without paying for a survey, so don't do buy a car without knowing exactly what your paying for.
Ensure A Smooth Transaction
Don't make any advance payments, and ensure that you get the keys and access to the car at the same time as you hand over the money. This will ensure that you don't end up forking out the cash without ever getting access to the car! This is particularly important if your buying direct from a person – rather than through a dealership or legitimate business.
Buying A Used Car
How Many Prior Owners?
It's important that your able to trace a car back to its roots. Without being able to do this you can never be sure what your buying. That's why a professional car dealership will demand that they're able to see paper work which details any prior owners – you should do the same. A car with fewer prior owners should be looked upon favourably as this means there is less chance that those that have owned the car in the past have been dissatisfied.
Mileage
You should always check the mileage on a used car before you part with your cash. A car with fewer miles on the clock has obviously been subjected to less wear and tear than cars that have covered more miles. If you don't the first thing about buying used cars, then the chances are that you will not know what kind of mileage you should be looking for. If that's the case then the best thing to do is ask people who do know, and look online to find guides which will be able to tell you what kind of mileage you should expect for a car with a certain registration plate.
Getting The Price Down
When it comes to buying a used car you are presented with a unique opportunity: to haggle the price down to as low as you can get it! That's why knowing a thing or two about how to haggle can help you to save a lot of money when it comes time to part with your cash. If you are wanting to haggle, simply asking for less than they are offering simply won't cut it – the more product knowledge you have, the more likely you are to be able to get them to listen. For example, if you can point out sources that reference the value of their car, and if you are able to point out imperfections – or less favourable aspects – then you may find that they will come round to your way of thinking. When your trying to get the best deal on a car you should never appear too desperate to buy it. If you do then they won't budge and you'll end up having to pay the price for showing your true colours.
Come Back Later
When your buying a used car you shouldn't jump in there and then. The excitement of being able to get what you want there and then can often mean that people don't as clearly as they should.

How to transport your car across state or across the country
However, it could surprise you how many details you have to learn about and make decisions on. There are carriers and fees to consider and insurance matters, for example. All this could take you a month. Plan on it.
Alternatives and options -- there are lots of them
Next, decide how you want to move the car. The cheapest way will be to hire a driver. But if you don't want the enroute risks associated with that, then you need to consider if you want shipping on a truck and moving with a depot to depot service, or a door to door service. Door to door will cost more, of course.
The decision to put your car on a vehicle is not the end of the matter. Will that be an open truck or enclosed? Will you make your car just part of a bigger load on an ordinary truck, or hire a specialized car hauler? Will you move it in a custom box you build, or in a standard container? Lots of options here.
Choose which company will move your car for you
This you need to select the trucking firm and you will probably be offered almost too many alternatives. Ask for references and talk with people who have moved cars with the trucking business. Go through the insurance cover with a careful eye. Spending time and care at this point will be well worth it in the long run.
When it's moving day!
When your moving day comes there are still things to do. Empty your car, take out what might get the attention of a thief, make the inside clean, remove things that might move, and leave the tank almost empty.
Also, be clear what the driver or the carrier will need from you when he picks up. When will he come to your home, for example? And when will he drop it off. When, and what payment will you be giving him? Are there papers you need to give or receive? If you know all this the move will be easier.
Use Of The Kelly Blue Book
When people want to sell their motorcycles or ATVs they generally try to find what the current market values are for their vehicle.
The Kelly blue book is basically reliable but there are a few factors that may need the appraisal of a private appraiser.
The ATV Kelly blue book will usually have the values that dealers and ATV companies sell their stock for as well as the types of vehicles that they sell.
It is also used at the dealer auction to determine a maximum bidding price, and used at the dealerships as a marketing tool.
With these individuals you may be able to bargain the price of the ATV down to an amount that is acceptable to both of you.
As the market price is found from information given by ATV dealers and dealer surveys in addition to consumer sales information the Kelly blue book will not be able to supply you with information regarding ATVs or Motorcycles that are probable considered as collectors items.
Also the Kelly blue book will give you the necessary information so that you are not taken in by unscrupulous dealers or sellers of ATVs.
This vital book determines the price of what dealers are willing to pay for a used car.
The Kelley Blue Book, which invented the term Blue Book, is a principal source for determining the loan value on used cars. The N.
In addition to these venues you will also be able to find the ATV Kelly blue book on the internet.

Vehicle Tracking Methods and Advice
Consider up front and ongoing costs For the small and medium sized fleet operator, it can be difficult to get past the “sticker shock” of the up front costs associated with vehicle tracking systems. With the real-time data provided by GPS vehicle tracking systems, you can tell your customer where your employee is right now and estimate more accurately when your employee will be arriving.
Is an employee using your vehicle to moonlight? Is he using your gas to move his brother-in-law into a new apartment? You’ll know if you install a GPS vehicle tracking device in your vehicles.

How To Safely Haul Your Classic Car
Once you have loaded it onto the trailer, tahe next step is to connect the straps. You can buy a complete tie down kit from Mac’s custom tie downs. Start by connecting the twisted snap hook on the fixed end (the short end) to each of the ‘D’ rings. Choose a set of locations to tie down to.
Typically, on a Classic Car those locations would be through the wheel, over an axle or substantial suspension member, or possibly around a frame horn.
Some general guidelines to keep in mind are: choose a location with enough strength to hold the Classic Car in the event of an accident, one that is free of cutting hazards, and with enough space around it to lace the axle strap.
DO NOT run a strap where it might migrate and crush a brake line. Also consider the effect of the movement of the Classic Car while it is traveling down the road, since what may seem like a clear space now, could become tie down strap guillotine later, if the trailer hits a hard bump.
After choosing a location, you should now run your axle strap around it. Check the length if the standard 24” isn’t enough, don’t worry Mac’s can make the strap in any length needed in a short timeframe.
Repeat this process at all four corners of the Classic Car.
Should you cross the straps? Possibly. Understand that the strap will have its maximum strength in the line it is pulling. It is always a good idea to have the straps at the rear of the Classic Car pulling mostly straight back. Most vehicles will out corner a trailer, so the Classic Car is more likely to come loose when an accident occurs than wander around when properly tied down. Be sure to take a look at the setup in your trailer and make sure that it is sensible this is the best test for tie downs.
How To Take A Driving Test And Become A Qualified Driver
To clarify, if you have never been licensed in any state or you hold a foreign country's license, you will be required to take a driving test to drive in the United States unless you hold an International license which is valid globally. If you fit this criteria and are planning to take the leap into being a motoring individual, give yourself the best chance at passing the test by following some simple guidelines.
Know what you are facing. A driving test generally consists of one or two parts: a road test where you can demonstrate your proficiency behind the wheel; and a theory section, used to assess a person's knowledge of driving law.
Prepare for your driver license tests with the state-provided, driver study guide. The manual covers all of the laws and road safety rules for your state. It is available free prior to hitting the road.
The driving test for the basic license class (Class C) is the same for all drivers regardless of age. Take a few days to review the information. It is an easy read with lots of pictures to make everything as clear as possible and aid in learning.
You can take any of the tests as many times as you like, but from a confidence standpoint, you want to pass the test as soon as you are able. Keep that in mind when you head to the testing center.
Ignore the folklore: There is a myth that says the DMV wants to fail you. Many jokes and a couple of commercials have been made emphasizing that point. In actuality, this could not be further from the truth. While the testers look stern and unforgiving, DMV officials want you to pass your driving test.
What they don't want is an unskilled motorist driving away from the testing ground a unqualified menace to the driving community. Knock that out of your mind as soon as possible. It just isn't true. They can actually be quite nice if you present yourself as a prepared, responsible individual who's taken the time adequately prepare.
If you can, find out ahead of time which type of course you are going to be tested on. The more knowledge you have under your belt, the less fear will be present. The road test can take place either on a closed course or on the street.
If your road test takes place on the actual road, it will consist of basic maneuvers you will encounter during a real trip including left and right turns, three-point turns, stops at intersections with traffic lights or stop signs, backing up in a straight line, lane changing and the like. If you are not taken on the road and instead test on a closed course, conditions will be simulated to give you the realest possible scenario available.
Practice, practice, practice. While testing is conducted at centers spread throughout the country, the real exam is when you are out there on the road. Get as much practice as you can.
While adults and minors essentially take the same test, teenage applicants are usually required to complete a number of hours of behind-the-wheel training with a portion of those hours being night driving. They are then allowed to go to DMV for their driving test. This is to ensure that they have enough experience prior to taking to the road.
If you are an adult and have never driven before still aren't required to drive a certain number of hours prior to going for the test; however, they still might want to take the hint from their teenage counterparts and practice for a period of time to get their driving legs under them.
Don't panic. There may also be some driving in regular street traffic combined with the closed course and in some cases motoring on the freeway might take place. Don't let this frighten you. Give yourself enough time to learn both the written legal portion and to get some experience and a feel for the car. After that, no matter what kind of course they throw at you, it won't phase you a bit.
When you go to take the test, try and drive the same car you have been practicing in. This will increase your confidence level as well as your chances of passing on your first try.
Stay cool. During your driving test, the examiner will note how you obey the rules of the road and traffic signs and signals. The examiner recognizes that passing the drivers test will afford you independence and freedom of movement.
While these are important factors in life, they also realize that the individual testing must be ready. That means that if you have practiced enough and practiced the correct way, you will have no problem passing the test. Just take the time to prepare sufficiently and you will walk out of the DMV a fully-licensed driver.
Here's a quick tip on what to do if you fail the first time. Don't beat yourself up. Just take it as a sign that you need more road time or you need to review the manual more.
Remember, once you are a qualified driver, nobody will know or care how many times it took you to accomplish that feat. They will only care that you aren't a driving disaster waiting to happen.
Hypnosis Symptoms as an Integral Part of Hypnotherapy
Too often the therapist regards patients as necessarily logical, understanding, in full possession of their faculties—in brief, as reasonable and informed human beings. Yet it is a matter of common knowledge often overlooked, disregarded, or rejected that hypnotic subjects can be silly, forgetful, absurd, unreasonable, illogical, incapable of acting with common sense, and very often governed and directed in their behavior by emotions and by unknown, unrecognizable, and perhaps undiscoverable unconscious needs and forces which are far from reasonable, logical, or sensible. To attempt therapy upon a patient only apparently sensible, reasonable, and intelligent when that patient may actually be governed by unconscious forces and emotions neither overtly shown nor even known, to overlook the unconscious mind for possible significant information, can lead easily to failure or to unsatisfactory results. Nor should seemingly intelligent, rational, and cooperative behavior ever be allowed to mislead the therapist into an oversight of the fact that the patient is still human and hence easily the victim of fears and foibles, of all those unknown experiential learnings that have been relegated to his unconscious mind and that he may never become aware of or ever show just what the self may be like under the outward placid surface. Nor should therapists have so little regard for their patients that they fail to make allowance for human weaknesses and irrationality.
Too often it is not the strengths of the person that are vital in the therapeutic situation. Rather, the dominant forces that control the entire situation may derive from weaknesses, illogical behavior, unreasonableness, and obviously false and misleading attitudes of various sorts. Therapists wishing to help their patients should never scorn, condemn, or reject any part of a patient’s conduct simply because it is obstructive, unreasonable, or even irrational. The patient’s behavior is a part of the problem brought into the office; it constitutes the personal environment within which the therapy must take effect; it may constitute the dominant force in the total patient-doctor relationship. Since whatever patients bring into the office is in some way both a part of them and a part of their problem, the patient should be viewed with a sympathetic eye appraising the totality which confronts the therapist. In so doing therapists should not limit themselves to an appraisal of what is good and reasonable as offering possible foundations for therapeutic procedures. Sometimes, in fact, many more times than is realized—hypnosis therapy can be firmly established on a sound basis only by the utilization of silly, absurd, irrational, and contradictory manifestations. One’s professional dignity is not involved, but one’s professional competence is.
The Nature of Hypnotic Suggestion
We all know from everyday experience that we can be so absorbed in something that interests us that we ignore everything else. We can "not hear" someone calling us and we can "not feel" pangs of hunger. Yet if you baldly ask someone to "not hear" or "not feel," they will look at you in disbelief. Our normal consciousness does not know how to "not hear" or "not feel" on direct command, even though the mental apparatus can do these things easily and automatically when the everyday conditions of ordinary life are suitable. Milton Erickson's indirect forms of suggestion are all means of arranging such suitable conditions so that individuals can accomplish things that are within their behavioral repertory but usually not available to voluntary control (although automatically and unconsciously available when the ordinary circumstances of life call for them, as illustrated above).
The wonder and fascination of hypnosis is that it enables us to control these responses that are usually mediated by unconscious mechanisms outside the normal range of consciousness. The art and science of the hypnotherapist is in knowing enough about behavior and learning in general, and the individual experiences of each patient in particular, so the therapist can present suggestions to evoke all the responses necessary to accomplish a given therapeutic goal.
The theory is simple, but the practice is difficult until the therapist has really learned how to evoke responses that are usually outside the patient's normal range of ego control. There are vast individual differences to be taken into account. Some patients can easily accept direct suggestions simply because they believe so much in the therapist's "prestige" or "power." Such belief wipes away the limitations and doubts characteristic of their usual attitudes; they don't believe they can accomplish such and such by themselves, but their belief system allows them to accomplish it in the special circumstances of therapy. Other patients, more critical and doubting, caught in a narrow, rationalistic view of themselves, require indirect suggestions that will bypass the destructive limitations of their belief system. Still other patients, more in tune with the facts, recognize their personal limitations but need not believe in the prestige or power of the therapist; rather, they hope the therapist really has the skill to help them accomplish their goal by indirect suggestions whose rationale they need not understand at the time.
Law of Attraction Tip: Are You Flowing Downstream or Upstream?
What is different about those days?
In May, I had the opportunity to attend a workshop called "The Art of Allowing" facilitated by Esther and Jerry Hicks (Abraham-Hicks) They are well known in the spiritual community for their teachings on The Law of Attraction.
They introduced the idea of attracting what we want in life as going with the flow. When we are going with the flow, we are moving downstream.
Have you ever gone rafting or tubing? Imagine what it would be like to paddle or float against the current. It is the flow of water that determines how fast or how slowly we arrive at our destination. Our emotions affect the intensity of the flow. (This is my interpretation).
Do you complain when things show up that you don't like and want?
For example:
Can you recall an experience you expected (or hoped) would go a certain way and you found things going in a different direction; perhaps one you weren't prepared for? What did you do? Did you try to redirect what was happening to go the way you wanted? Were you successful or did you create more stress and emotional turmoil for yourself? Or.. did you let go, staying curious and resilient so that you could be open to new possibilities?
In the end, how did things turn out?
You might not realize how much energy you are using to struggle against something that is happening or has already happened. Your reaction does not change the outcome that has already happened. It is what it is. Your attitude and emotions affect how you deal with what is. Embrace the moment (flow downstream) or wrestle with it (upstream).
As a child I had a little toy I'll call a Chinese puzzle. I'm not recalling the actual name. It looked like a cigar and was woven out of a straw-like material that was flexible. The inside was hollow. It had openings at either end and you put both index fingers into each opening. If you pulled, the openings tightened on your fingers and you couldn't remove them. It was only when you relaxed your fingers that you could slide them out.
How might your life be different if you felt a greater acceptance of each momentary experience rather than struggling against it?
Imagine how much energy and good feelings you could generate to attract what you want?
Look, we're all human and not always at our best. So many things can get in the way of being able to embrace whatever happens in life with a positive attitude.
Every experience, wanted or unwanted, has value to your personal development and business success.
Next time you find yourself struggling against the moment, ask yourself:
1. How does this person or situation challenge me? (To grow as a person, to improve your business…. ?).
2. What can I learn from this experience that will improve the quality of my life?
3. What can I appreciate about this situation? What are the gifts? In other words, find the value to you from the experience.
A friend of mine says that when she feels highly reactive to something (and can recognize her reaction) that the person or situation is really working for her - challenging her to look more deeply inside at her beliefs and behaviors. She sees that situation as serving her to grow as a person, which is one of her core values. She can then choose to continue to react (upstream) or integrate what she has discovered into feeling better (downstream).
I have a note on my computer and refrigerator that reminds me I am the Source of my attitudes, feelings, and experiences. I can reach for a better thought so that I can embrace each moment (be ok with what is) and move forward to what I desire… or not…well, you get the picture, right?
If you are feeling unhappy with your life, you've most likely been going upstream.
Ready to change direction?
Horror at Temple House - Part 2
It was when Annabel told us that she could feel the spirit of Alice on the staircase, that the hairs began to rise on the back of our necks.
The cameras were set-up near the stairs and we sent Katherine off with her temperature gauge. There was some drop in temperature, but she was unable to find the reason for this.
We began to shout out, and in return we could hear whistling. The video cameras picked up nothing, except for a few orbs near the stairs.
We decided at this point that we would hold a sance with a Ouija board. We asked out for information and received on the board the message "Sad" and "Baby". Ann informed us that the girl was unhappy at not being able to give birth to the baby before she had died.
We also received the message "James" which we knew to be the man that had killed her and "Stairs" which we already knew was the place that she had died.
Nothing else happened during this session, so we packed away our equipment and waited. Shouting out again, we received some bumps and bangs in answer to our questions. We also had a large drop in temperature, that once again Katherine couldn't find an explanation for. We also heard strange whistling again and several more times after that.
When morning came we had gathered enough information and recorded several strange occurrences that had made it a worthy night. Probably not as much as we had hoped but not so little that it had been a waste of time.
Annabel cleansed the house of the spirit, which she always request to be alone in doing so. We went home again to examine the data we had collected and make some conclusion to our findings.
Who Is That In The Mirror?
When I am not looking in the mirror, I feel no different than I did 25 years ago. I still feel like that young woman with the dark auburn hair and olive complexion. My dreams are still the same dreams. I still harbor hope for a better life for myself and my children. I still do not know what the future is going to bring to me. I surely am not ready for a rocking chair yet!
My physical package has changed but my inner self is still new and thirsty for life's pleasures and challenges when the dawn brings in a new day. I am still not finished with me yet. There are so many things I want to know. I have a long way to go to accomplish my dreams. Life is passing by so quickly. Each day seems to fly by faster than the day before.
Is my mirror a reflection of me, or maybe just a forewarning not to take every moment for granite?
When you are young time is forever, but as you grow older time passes so quickly. When you figure the average American lives 77 years, then I only have approximately 20 years left to complete myself. That is a pretty sobering fact when you figure for 57 years have already passed by and I am far from completion. By my calculations I need another 50 years to maybe be satisfied or completed with me.
We are always told to take time to smell the roses, or embrace the moment. Just do not embrace for to long, or get lost in the rose garden because before you know it you are looking in the mirror wondering who that is.
Maybe we should live more by the philosophy,"make hay while the sun shines".
Who is that in the mirror? It is me! It is a person who has worked hard at making necessary changes in her life to become a better life. It is a person who has overcome drug and alcohol abuse, spouse abuse and a major life threatening eating disorder.
No the person in the mirror has not amassed wealth or made any great contributions to society, but today I am a person who has a sense of personal value. Today my children and husband have a different respect for me and value me differently. Today I am new.
So when I am looking in the mirror today, I am looking at a stranger. I have worked hard to be different and better. Now I need to get to know me, because I am no longer that young woman with the dark auburn hair and olive complexion. That is the person I worked so hard not to be anymore. Today my beauty is inner.
Hypnosis is as Old as Man
The initial scientific beginnings in the consideration of hypnosis began with Anton Mesmer in 1775, from whose name originates the term mesmerism which is still in modern usage. Mesmer`s utilization of hypnosis commenced with his finding that particular types of medical patients responded to arm stroking and sleep suggestions. Mesmer referenced these medicative results to the `quality` of `animal magnetism`, and he came up with a hypothesis that animal magnetism was some inexplicable and peculiar cosmic fluid with restorative qualities.
Notwithstanding Mesmer`s exceptional intuitive knowledge of clinical psychology, he had no distinct apprehension of the psychological constitution of his therapy. Nonetheless, he medicated large numbers of patients effectively on whom traditional medical procedures had failed. Unfortunately, his extreme personality and enigmatic peculiarity of his therapy brought him inordinately to disrespect despite the fact that lots of physicians visited his clinic throughout the peak of his success to study the important lessons in the mystic art of psychotherapy, specifically, the importance of clinical psychology.
Since Mesmer there has been a succession of marvelous men who became interested in hypnosis and implemented it effectively in medical purposes, entrusting it an progressively more scientific basis and legality. Elliotson, the first man in England to use the stethoscope, got interested in hypnosis about 1817, used it suitably, and left outstanding written material of its remedial effect in specific cases. Esdaille, moved by Elliotson`s case reports, became an devoted advocate of mesmerism, as it was then called,
and truly succeeded in interesting the British government in modeling a hospital in
India, where he used it thoroughly on all categories of medical patients, leaving a lot of excellent manuscripts of major and minor surgery done under hypnotic anesthesia.
The initiation of a psychological conception of the phenomenon began in 1841 with James Braid, primarily an opponent and then later a most enthusiastic reviewer and supporter. It was he who made up the idiom hypnosis, pointed to the psychological framework of hypnotic sleep, and addressed a lot of its manifestations, brainstorming methods whereby to assess their strength.
How To Deal With Jelousy
Most people have three core beliefs about relationships that are guaranteed to create jealousy even in the most sexual liberal thinking people.
The sad thing is that most of us have absorbed these beliefs without even realizing it!
Identifying and dismantling these beliefs in our mind and heart is the single most effective way to short-circuit jealousy. The reason why the idea of a threesome is unthinkable to many people is because they’ve been “programmed” this way.
Jealousy Belief #1
If my partner really loved me, he/she wouldn’t have sexual desires for anyone else but me.
This belief sees any interest your partner has in anyone else as a direct reflection of how much he or she loves you. It’s a quantitative view of love which equates the amount of love with the ability to be interested in having another partner.
This is nuts isn’t it?
We are sexual beings and it is normal to fantasize about being with other people. Denying these feelings goes against our nature.
Jealousy Belief #2
My partner can only be interested in some one else if I’m not a good enough in bed.
This belief is even more sinister!
With the previous belief you could at least blame it on your partner for not loving you enough.
This belief says that if your partner is interested in someone else, it’s your fault for not being the perfect lover or spouse therefore your relationship must be a failure.
If you truly believe that your lover could only be interested in another partner because you’re inadequate, you can see how that will generate jealousy big time!
Jealousy Belief #3
It’s impossible to share love with more than one person at the same time.
This belief is built on the "scarcity economy” of love; the belief that love is a scarce resource, that only so much goes around and that there’s never enough for all.
If my partner gives away love (time, love, affection, sex, support) to anyone else, that means that there is less for me.
This belief creates fear and uncertainty. If this belief were true, then a mother wouldn’t be able to her love her first child as much after she gives birth to the second child because she would have to divide her love between two.
In my eyes love is infinite, and the more you give the more you will receive.
Amending Your Beliefs
The beliefs mentioned below are connected to three primal fears and you’ll need to work on eliminating these fears. It might take a bit of time and effort to adjust and to create a new set of beliefs.
* The first belief expresses a deep fear that you are not loved and will be abandoned.
* The second belief taps into insecurities and the fear of not being adequate or deserving of love
* The third belief is a fear of deprivation and being starved for love and attention.
Think for a moment how much influence these beliefs have had in your life so far.
Have compassion for yourself as you work with these beliefs and gradually replace them with beliefs that support your desire to embrace an open relationship.
Opting for a Better Set of Beliefs
Beliefs can be empowering and disempowering.
You are who you are and you are where you are in your life because of your beliefs.
If you want to start successfully exploring your sexuality it might be a good idea to opt for a new set of beliefs!
Enlightened Belief #1
My partner loves me so much that he/she trusts our relationship to expand and be enriched by experiencing even more love from others.
Enlightened Belief #2
Our relationship is so solid and trusting that we can experience with other people freely. My partner is so satisfied with me and our relationship that having other partners will not threaten the bond we enjoy.
Enlightened Belief #3
There’s an abundance of love in the world and there is plenty for everyone. Choosing to make love with more than one person is a choice that can exponentially expand my potential for giving and receiving love.
Imagine how different your life would be if you actually had this set of beliefs instead of the previous ones.
A person with this set of beliefs is not only ready to enjoy a threesome, but also ready to take their relationship to new levels of love and understanding.
Unlearning Jealousy
If jealousy becomes an issue for you and your partner, you might try working on some or all of these points:
* Solid commitment
* Good communication
* Sticking to agreements
* Reassuring each other's love before sexually playing with the 3rd person
* Listening to each other's concerns and taking them seriously whenever they arise
Working on these points will eliminate jealousy a great deal, however they won’t banish jealousy altogether!
Being jealous is simply the way you experience certain feelings. Most people will say things like: “Oh, he makes me so jealous…”
The truth is that jealousy is an internal emotion. No person or behavior can “make” you jealous.
Whether you like it or not, the only person who can really banish jealousy is yourself.
So if you want to unlearn jealousy you need to stop blaming and start acknowledging your feelings.
Next time you feel jealous, ask yourself; what does this jealousy really mean?
Suddenly a new set of answers will come to you and you’ll be able to deal with jealousy in a more intelligent way.
Remind yourself that you enjoy your lover's undivided attention any night you wish.
However the night of your threesome is about sharing and enjoying.
Any hint of perceived competition, or "I'm not getting my share" or "you’re paying too much attention to him/her," and the evening will be ruined faster than the speed of light.
This may lead to developing a sense of awkwardness afterwards with the third person, and a possible quarrel with your partner.
